SumDU representatives participated in the III Chinese-Ukrainian Forum “Days of Ukraine in Harbin”

Rector’s Assistant for External Economic Relations Viacheslav Kuksenko and Director of the Department of International Education Mykola Bozhko took part in the third forum “Days of Ukraine in Harbin” (Harbin, PRC) at invitation of the People’s Government of Harbin and “Hua Yue Dong Fang” corporation as part of the Ukrainian delegation.

Chinese side was represented by the officials of the Ministry of Education of PRC, the administration of Harbin, deputies of the National People’s Congress of Heilongjiang province and senior management of a number of higher education institutions, research and production enterprises.

The declared goal of the Forum was the activization of bilateral cooperation on the multiregional level, creation of conditions for strengthening of exchanges and cooperation in the spheres of science and education within the implementation of the Chinese programme “The Belt and Road Initiative”.

According to the program of a visit, during the meeting of Chinese and Ukrainian HEIs rectors and the Plenary session on cooperation in the sphere of science and technology SumDU presentations were demonstrated regarding foreign students studying, as well as research potential and achievements in the sphere of development projects.

During the visit SumDU representatives conducted negotiations with Harbin University of Commerce, Jiamusi University, Xian Jiaotong University and Dalian University of Technology. The topics of the bilateral negotiation were the issues of implementation of academic mobility programmes, dual degree and cooperation in technical-scientific sphere. The cooperation agreements were concluded with Harbin University of Commerce and Jiamusi University. As agreed, Xian Jiaotong University representatives are going to visit SumDU in February 2020 to discuss the matter of bilateral cooperation.

Negotiations resulted in signing an agreement of cooperation between SumDU and “Hua Yue Dong Fang” corporation that is authorized by the People’s Government of Harbin for development of Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation in the sphere of education and science on the level of Heilongjiang province.
