On October 16th Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University hosted the XXI meeting of the Consortium of Ukrainian universities and Warsaw university. The Consortium gathered representatives of 12 education institutions from Ukraine, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland Damian Ciarcinski, director of the Center of East European studies of Warsaw university, honoured professor (NaUKMA), honoured doctor of the National University “Ostroh Academy” Jan Malicki.

The meeting held a discussion regarding the participation of the Consortium universities in the programme of academic exchange PROM-2, current scholarships and schools of the Center of East European studies, Ivan Vyhovskyi scholarship programme.

Senior lecturer of the Department of German Philology, director of the Center of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation Iryna Ushchapovska represented Sumy State University. She talked about plans of creating a meeting place for Ukrainian-Polish youth at SumDU where they can learn cultural and historical heritage, conduct archeological research, develop ecotourism and create the region brand. Also, participants considered the issue regarding the Consortium website developed by Sumy State University.

The rector of Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University Halyna Kyrychuk took charge of the Consortium for the next period. The following meeting will take place in spring 2020 at Warsaw university.
