As a result of the competitive selection of projects, this year Sumy State University will receive state funding for 58 research works, 20 of them for the development of young scientists. This number and amount of funding for state-funded research works are the largest in the history of the university. This was reported by Denys Kurbatov, the Head of Research and Development Sector of SumDU.
“According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a total of UAH 694 million was allocated on a competitive basis under the CPCEL (code for programmatic classification of expenditures and lending) 2201040 program (in 2019 - 750 million UAH), 124 universities will receive the funding (last year - 137). Sumy State University managed to improve its position in the overall ranking of HEIs funding comparing with the last year. Among the winning projects of the main competition, two projects start at the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies, another two at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies, one at Oleg Balatskyi Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management, one at Academic and Research Institute of Business Technologies ”UAB” and one at the Medical Institute. Also, the project on the topic of the Research Institute of Mineral Fertilizers and Pigments, that merged into a structure of the university last year, is now being implemented”, - Denys Kurbatov noted.
