On June 12th-16th, Kyiv hosted the VIII International Music Art Competition "Kyivskyi Koloryt", which was attended by over 300 participants from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Chernihiv, Minsk, Chisinau and other cities of Ukraine and abroad. The competition was supported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, organized by the National All-Ukrainian Music Union. The university in the competition was represented by the participants of the vocal studio of the cultural and artistic center (headed by Olha Bondarenko).

Oleksandra Bublii, a student of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies, won over the jury with her voice and technical performance of the contest song and won the Grand Prix of the contest.

The vocal group “Hermanos”, consisted of Yevhenii Lehkobyt from the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications and Bohdan Hrytsai from the Machine Building College of Sumy State University, won the first place in the nomination "pop vocal", and the second place was taken by Mykhailo Vorfolomeiev (the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications).
