SumDU students are the Europe’s Youth Sambo champions

The students of Sumy State University majoring in Physical Education and Sports won two gold medals for the national team of Ukraine at the European Youth Sambo Championship. The competition was held on May 26-27 in Limassol (Cyprus).

Oleksii Halaka became the European champion among young men in the 98+ kg weight category, defeating an athlete from Georgia in the final. Nataliia Chystiakova in a final battle overcame the resistance of the Russian wrestler and became the European champion among girls in the weight category up to 72 kg.
