On July 10-11, the Play-Off and Grand Final of the CYBER SUMDU e-sports tournament [CS: GO and Mortal Kombat 11] took place at the Congress Center of Sumy State University.

One hundred and twenty-eight teams from Sumy and Sumy region, Kyiv, Lviv, Cherkasy, Mykolayiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv, took part in the tournament. Thirty-two teams reached the final and competed in two leagues – school and amateur.

The tournament was organized by the Department of Economic Cybernetics of the Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics, and Management, the Center of E-Sports of SumDU, and the Ukrainian Esports Federation.

According to the lecturer of the Department of Economic Cybernetics of SumDU, Oleksandr Kushnerov, it was difficult to hold a tournament for thirty-two teams in two days. However, it was conducted with a great atmosphere of the tournament and active commentators. “We hope that today's participants of the tournament will become the students of our Department one day and will promote the development of e-sports movement in future”, - said Oleksandr.

“A large number of participants, many positive moments, and the confrontation of teams kept in tension until the end of the game. It was a great experience! We plan to organize such tournaments in future”, - said the specialist of the Department of Economic Cybernetics at SumDU Illia Safronov.

The tournament resulted with the following winners:

School League

1st place – “Fenlitach” team (Voznesensk School №10 of Mykolayiv region, Konotop Industrial and Pedagogical Professional College of SumDU)

2nd place – “NEVERAGE” team (Sad General Secondary Education Institution of І-ІІІ degrees, Sumy Specialized School of I-III degrees №2)

3rd place – “P2L” team (Holosiivskyi Lyceum №24, Kyiv city, Kyiv Gymnasium №315)

Amateur League

1st place –“Ulitki” team (Kharkiv Private Lyceum “Professional”, Kharkiv Specialized School of I-III degrees №17)

2nd place – “2k_goblins” team (Sumy Specialized School of I-III degrees №17, Petropavlivsk-Borshchahivska School of I-III degrees, Kyiv region)

3rdplace –“Starieloshadi” team (SumDU, Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko)
