On August 29, the third camp shift in the sanatorium complex "Univer" of SumDU was closed. This summer, the camp accepted 550 children for rest and wellness, including children of SumDU employees, talented and gifted children, as well as children of privileged categories.
During the three shifts, life in the institution was full of various activities: opening and closing of camp shifts, the day of the secret admirer, "Univer" has talent, Museum Day, UniverDANCE, numerous sports competitions, film screenings, as well as a hiking tour.
The highlight of this year was career guidance events organized by SumDU subdivisions. In particular, the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry of the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies conducted a quest "In a chemical laboratory", during which groups of young chemists were searching for components of a miraculous elixir to obtain gold.
Meaningful training "Am I a leader?", Organized by the Oleg Balatskyi Department of Management of Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management, helped participants to get acquainted with the main qualities of a leader, to learn about the possibilities of influence and the degree of responsibility for management decisions, as well as to determine the role of the leader in creating a team.
The Department of Economic Cybernetics of the Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management held an intellectual competition "Your Game" and, together with the Center for eSports of SumDU and with the support of the Federation of eSports of Ukraine, participated in the organization of an esports tournament in Mortal Kombat 11 "CYBER SUMDU CAMP".
Together with the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance of the Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management, the camp students tested their financial literacy during the Financial Quiz, which was held under the slogan of this year's Global Money Week - "Take care of yourself, take care of your money."
No less interesting was a workshop from the ship modeling club, which organizes work with young sportsmen at the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies.
Also, there were thematic events organized dedicated to the State Flag Day and the Independence Day of Ukraine, which were held jointly with the Sumy Regional Main Directorate of the National Police. The specialists of the Explosives Service, Police Dog Service, and Patrol Police were involved in the event.
"Our greatest achievement is a million children's smiles, cool emotions, and children's vibe during the shifts, the strongest hugs and a bunch of warm words of farewell. Thanks to everyone who was with us this summer. We are embracing every child with the whole friendly team of "Univer" and we are looking forward to the next meeting!", - the director of "Unive" Yana Kryvych said.
