On September 16, a delegation from Poznan, Poland visited Sumy State University.

The delegation included the Chancellor of the Kalisz Academy (Poznan, Poland) Gregorz Szymanski, a representative of the HCP Medical Center (Poznan, Poland) Leslaw Lenartowicz, Director of the PRO PROGRESS UKRAINE (Poland) Maryna DERBENTSEVA (UKRAINE), and the representative of the PRO PROGRESS UKRAINE (Poland) Tomasz KRUSZYNSKI.

At the meeting, SumDU was represented by the First Vice-Rector Serhiy LYEONOV, the Head of the International Affairs Department Kostyantyn KYRYCHENKO, and the Director of the Medical Institute Andrii LOBODA.

The participants of the meeting discussed specific tasks in the framework of the introduction of medical and nursing exchange, in particular, the possibility of training medical students of SumDU within double degree programmes, as well as internships at the HCP Medical Center and further employment.

"Today our main task is to work out the form of cooperation that will be beneficial for SumDU, in particular for students and our Polish partners. But we are interested in our students not just to go to Poland, but to study, gain new skills and return to work in Ukraine", - said Serhiy LYEONOV.

The Head of the International Affairs Department Kostyantyn KYRYCHENKO told the participants about the experience of cooperation of Sumy State University with Polish partners. He noted that currently the university already has more than 40 partners in Poland. The range of cooperation is wide: implementation of joint European projects, research, joint publications, academic mobility of teachers and students.

"Poland has been our strategic partner for many years. We are interested in double degree programmes and exchange programmes, because it is important for us that students have an opportunity to gain additional skills, practice, to study in other countries. In particular, cooperation within the triangle, which includes double degree programmes between SumDU and Kalisz Academy, as well as partnership with the HCP Medical Center, which implements the practical component of student training, will be important and useful", - said Kostyantyn KYRYCHENKO.

"We offer a comprehensive programme that opens new prospects for students because after its completion they will have an opportunity to stay and work in Poland or return to Ukraine with European experience", -  said the representative of PRO PROGRESS UKRAINE (Poland) Tomasz KRUSZYNSKI.
