Despite border challenges and constant threats to the energy infrastructure, SumDU remains a powerful center of education and science. The 2024 and 2025 years have been a test of strength for our institution, but at the same time they have confirmed we have reliable partners who help us overcome any challenges.

When stationary computers freeze without power after enemy attacks, and the power of generators is directed only to support critical network nodes, every hour of work becomes a challenge.

An important step in strengthening the digital infrastructure was SumDU accession to the Association of Users of the Ukrainian Scientific and Educational Telecommunications Network “URAN”.

In January 2026, the URAN Charitable Foundation donated 20 modern laptops to SumDU. This assistance was made possible by the charitable organization “Computer Aid International” under a support program from the international foundations “GÉANT” and “Vietsch”.

The new equipment will allow SumDU scientists, teachers, and students to: stay connected and continue their research even during power outages. One may implement European projects that require a constant digital presence. Continuity of education is ensured for future generation of professionals regardless of external conditions.

SumDU sincerely appreciates the URAN aid. Your support is not only material assistance. It is an investment in sustainability of the Ukrainian intellectual elite.
