The visit of Dipra JHA, a scholarly associate professor of the Carson College of Business and Assistant Director of the School of Hospitality Business Management, Washington State University to Sumy State University, was full of meetings and talks, particularly on broadening cooperation between the business institutions of partner universities.

Further development of cooperation within the introduction of COIL-modules into the disciplines, joint research activity, publications and other topics were discussed with the Rector Vasyl KARPUSHA, the Head of the International Affairs DepartmentKostyantyn KYRYCHENKO, the ViceDirector of the Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management Tetyana MAYBORODA.

During the visit, Professor Dipra got acquainted with the resources of the Library and Information Centre, checked online studio, tested the possibilities of SumDU VR-studio, discussed prospects for the creation of the virtual teaching methods to be applied in virtual classes with the Director of the Organizational and Methodical Center of E-learning Technologies Yurii ZUBAN.

Professor Dipra also met the students majoring in Management and International Economic Relations at the SumDU Congress Center, where the participants of the autumn global virtual class, COIL-module on “Conflict, International Leadership, and International Business,” were awarded the certificates of participation.

After more than two years of working in COIL modules and introducing them into academic disciplines, virtual classes, and online projects, the students had an opportunity to engage in live and interactive communication with Professor Dipra. They talked about current learning methods, finding yourself in the world, employment, and career prospects, etc.

A group of research and academic staff of SumDU, active participants of COIL projects, was represented by the lecturers of Oleg Balatskyi Department of Management: Professor Hanna SHVINDINA, who initiated the introduction of such modules and virtual classes in teaching jointly with Professor Dipra in 2019, Yuliia OPANASIUK and Tetyana MAYBORODA and also the lecturer of the Department of German Philology, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications Alla KRASULIA.

In total, since 2019, Sumy State University has implemented six projects jointly with Professor Dipra JHA:

  • Global Virtual Class on “Tourism and Hotel Business”.
  • Teacher training courses “Teaching Strategies for Virtual Classrooms Faculty Development Program” by the University of Nebraska.
  • Global Virtual Classroom “Strategic Management and Leadership”jointly with Whitefield Business School (Mauritius).
  • Global Virtual Program for Postgraduate Students, Teachers, Young Researchers, Graduates “Excellence in Teaching & Research”, joinlty with Washington State University.
  • COIL-module “International Management” for the 4th year students majoring in “Management”.
  • COIL-module “Conflicts, International Leadership and International Business” for the 3rd year students majoring in “Management”
