On 11-17 June 2023, the 11th International Summer School took place at the Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznań, Poland). It was visited by members of 25 Ukrainian institutions. SumDU was represented by Maryna OSIUKHINA (the Media Center head).

The event organizers demonstrated the Polish and German research experience.

Rafal VITKOVSKYI (professor, vice-rector for international cooperation at the Adam Mickiewicz University) gave a welcome speech and an introductory lecture to the participants. He emphasized that it is important for all scientists to find ideas, successful examples and adopt them.

The guests learned about the Festival of Science and Art in Poznań and the Scientific District radio podcast. They watched several documentaries and got acquainted with interesting projects.

Finally, the participants were invited to the university TV and radio studios. Everyone was able to record their own podcast or short video.

“This summer school was extremely valuable for many reasons. Firstly, it was incredible to feel the Polish support. Secondly, it was important to meet with representatives of various Ukrainian universities. We discussed research challenges and joint projects. Thirdly, we keep adopting the experience and achievements of European universities right now. The sooner we start changing our work according to the European model, the easier all EU transformational processes will be for us,” – said Maryna OSIUKHINA.

The Adam Mickiewicz University and the Sumy State University signed an agreement on a long-term strategic partnership. It comprises grant projects, academic exchanges, double degree programs, scientific cooperation, etc. SumDU has such partnerships with almost 20 foreign universities.
