On 29 September 2022, a webinar was held between Sumy State University and University of Liverpool. British colleagues shared their media and marketing practices.

English guests were greeted by Serhii LIEONOV (SumDU vice-rector) and Kostiantyn KYRYCHENKO (chief of the International Affairs Department). Maryna OSIUKHINA (head of the Media Center) was a webinar moderator.

As Serhii LIEONOV stated, Liverpool teams have been assisting our university in different branches for the last several months. In particular, media and marketing cooperation resulted in the successful SumDU admission campaign. Thus, there are more students of all educational degrees. By the way, it was a British media idea to create the admission motto “Armed with Education”.

“University of Liverpool is proud of working with SumDU to realize the program “Uniting Initiative”. We launched a multi-aspect cooperation. Our partnership is trying to make a common educational platform and exchange online materials”, – stressed Gavin BROWN (Liverpool educational vice-rector). He regards use of obtained student’s knowledge and skills as important to recover Ukraine after the victory. Sir BROWN expressed SumDU support within war challenges. When the military situation is over, the universities will develop academic mobility actively.

Liverpool researchers represented career guidance patterns and techniques of promoting the university brand. Moreover, models of social media content and virtual practices were shown.

Tim SIMANS (international affairs director at Liverpool University) underlined significance of cooperation with stakeholders. His team activity is unfolding in three branches: marketing, public and media communication, relations with graduates. Kostiantyn KYRYCHENKO told that SumDU students of Liverpool summer school had been invited to join the British graduates’ association.

Sumy webinar participants asked for Liverpool reaction to competitors and opinion on what marketing strategy is more promising – offline, digital, etc.

The event finished in SumDU acknowledgements to British colleagues for constructive presentations. Both universities are going to implement new common projects in the nearest future.
