SumDU is one of three Ukrainian leaders in students’ martial arts

On 30 September 2022, the World Cup of Martial Arts was finished in Samsun (a Turkish city). SumDU sportsmen were awarded four golden prizes and took the third place among 35 Ukrainian universities.

All medals were obtained in sambo competitions.

Yaryna FEDORCHENKO (Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies) won for the 50 kg weight category. Oleksii HALAKA (Medical Institute) succeeded in the +98 kg weight category. Other two golden medals were received in team wrestling. Anna HREIKO took the eighth place for karate contests.

Totally, there were participants of 186 universities from 38 countries. In the general event, Ukraine was awarded the silver rank.
