On 24 April 2023, there was a meeting of the SumDU Supervisory Board. It was headed by Vasyl KREMEN (president of the Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences).
As the SumDU rector, Vasyl KARPUSHA reported on 2022 university results and 2023 issues.
Among the main 2022 achievements, SumDU reflected a strong ranking position. It succeeded in education, research, international activities and extracurricular work.
The Supervisory Board focused on significant rise of university’s education, research, finances and social missions.
Ihor MOLOTOK (deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board and politician) noted a high wartime performance of SumDU members. Here, more students study and new scientific projects are realized.
According to Denys HRYNIOV (Supervisory Board member, EPAM chief), Sumy State University is an example of success and innovation. He thanked the university management, personally rector Vasyl KARPUSHA, for fruitful IT cooperation.
The Supervisory Board discussed state issues to solve. In particular, that concerns the local admission factor for oblasts bordering on Russia. Besides, admission motivation for port-war recovery specialties is relevant: engineering, construction, etc.
Vasyl KREMEN regards SumDU as a modern, powerful center of research, education, innovation and extracurricular activities. Systematic and comprehensive development is a key to its success. High-quality curricula, scientific projects, sports infrastructure, social and community work are located at SumDU. True patriots of Ukraine are being raised here. They defend our motherland.
The Supervisory Board unanimously approved the SumDU achievements. The draft decision also included suggestions to commemorate the 75th university anniversary and support of front-line institutions.
Remarks: The SumDU Supervisory Board was established according to the Ukrainian Act on Higher Education. It solves university problems, attracts and controls financial resources.
