This initiative was announced on 10 July 2023 in Abuja (Nigeria). Here, there was a meeting of SumDU graduates with Ivan KHOLOSTENKO (Ukrainian ambassador in Nigeria), Tetiana MAIBORODA (deputy head of the SumDU International Affairs Department) and Olena NEDRYHAILO (representative of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nigeria).

The event discussed the Ukrainian-Nigerian education relationships, their plans and prospects. The Embassy is going to found the Graduate Association of Ukrainian Universities. It will promote Ukrainian education among Nigerians. Also, it will support entrants in their admission at Ukrainian institutions.

The meeting participants focused on great popularity of the Ukrainian high-quality education among Nigerians. Returning home with new knowledge and Ukrainian diplomas, graduates succeed in career and develop their country.

As former SumDU students from Nigeria, the meeting guests shared their memories about Ukrainian study and interesting stories. Besides, they told on employment experience in Nigeria with the SumDU diploma. The graduates are very grateful for hospitality and acquired knowledge. As one of participants stated, hospitality is a common value of Ukrainians and Nigerians. It unites both nations.
