For the second year, SumDU has been participating in the University Summer School of Liverpool. Here, a twin university is located within the Unity Initiative.

The Summer School comprises online modules in the university campus. The participants are trained via a 3-week program of 7-15 ECTS credits. Summer School modules are quite relevant for SumDU. Lecturers are skilled instructors of the Liverpool University and other British facilities.

This year, over 70 SumDU members have participated in two online modules: “Fake News, Fake Science and Critical Thinking. What Should I Believe?” (12-30 June 2023), “Sustainable Development Goals. Global Challenges. Local Actions. Achieved Outcomes” (3-21 July 2023).

“Due to the Summer School, I am proud of using my knowledge in future projects to promote sustainable development”, – stated Anastasia PUSHKAR (a part-time participant from the Business, Economics and Management Institute).

Besides, three SumDU students were selected for full-time training in England. Therefore, they got acquainted with ways to solve social, ecological and economic challenges.

“I am glad to participate in the Summer School. I improved my English skills and found new friends. The Liverpool University Library will provide me with valuable resources for my further study. The campus is a space where I would like to develop. Here, you may visit many comfortable cafes and spend free time with friends. Also, I visited British sights. Academic mobility is a great opportunity of personal development”, – noted Veronika SHEVCHENKO (a full-time participant from the Business, Economics and Management Institute).

According to Kostiantyn KYRYCHENKO (the chief of the SumDU International Affairs Department), the SumDU participation is a great experience. It improves university curriculums, upgrades advanced trainings and provides with new skills. That is only one of successful cooperation ties between our twin universities.
