On 10-15 September 2023, The 2023 IEEE 13th International Conference “Nanomaterials: Applications & Properties” was held in Bratislava (Slovakia).

Sumy State University organized it together with the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and the IEEE Nanotechnology Council. Besides, the event was supported by the IEEE Magnetics Society, the US-Ukrainian Foundation and the ATLANT 3D Nanosystems Company.

About 350 participants took part in the conference. Almost 100 people joined online. Over 400 reports were sent, co-authored by about 1500 scientists. More than 150 oral presentations and 160 poster presentations were demonstrated at the conference on 12 different topics. The main topics were nanomagnetism and magnetic materials, application of nanotechnology in biomedicine, multifunctional thin films and coatings.

Presentations were made by world-renowned researchers from the USA, Europe and Asia: Yury GOGOTSI, Jaroslav FABIAN, Yael HANEIN, Volodymyr TSUKRUK, Jannik MEYER and Marek PRZYBYLSKI.

The best reports were awarded by sponsors. In addition, the IEEE Magnetics Society, the IEEE Nanotechnology Council and the US-Ukrainian Foundation Biotechnology Initiative have provided about 75 grants to young scientists from India, Africa and Ukraine.

Scientific works that meet IEEE requirements will traditionally be published in the conference proceedings and indexed by Scopus and other bases.

The next conference will be organized by Sumy State University together with the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy of the University of Latvia. It will take place in Riga on 8-13 September 2024.
