Maryna SADIVNYCHA (an assistant of the Department of Journalism and Philology, a SumDU Press Center specialist) participated in advanced training of young journalists in the Czech Republic. The event took place on 27 November till 1 December.

The training was realized within the international project “Improving the Quality of Training of Young Journalists in Ukraine”. It was supported by the Association for International Affairs of the Czech Republic. Thirteen female teachers from different universities of Ukraine took part in the educational trip.

The program was extremely rich. It included activities in three cities: Prague, Vienna and Brno. During the trip, the participants met with media representatives from Ukraine and the Czech Republic. For example, there were Tetiana LEBEDIEVA, Halyna PASTUKH, Oksana STAVRO, Michał SHTIASTNA, Yana USTOHALOVA. 

The guests visited the editorial offices of Czech Radio and Czech Television in Brno. There, they got acquainted with regional offices of public broadcasters. Also, they came to the Journalism Department of Masaryk University, talked with the administration of the South Moravian Region and Masaryk University.

Besides, Ukrainians visited the headquarters of Radio Liberty in Prague. Here, they met with Mariana DRACH (the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian radio section).

“I am glad to take part in the training. It was interesting to compare how local media work in Ukraine and the Czech Republic. I got acquainted with the press services and evaluated the specifics of journalism education. I am sure that the acquired experience will be useful in various aspects of my professional activity,” – said Maryna SADIVNYCHA.
