On 23 February 2024, Sumy State University signed a cooperation memorandum with Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (Bareilly, India). The ceremony took place online.

In his opening remarks, Vasyl KARPUSHA (SumDU rector) noted the university has a long history of partnership with educational institutions in India. Before the full-scale invasion, the student community from India was the largest.

“Sumy State University is actively working in the educational and scientific spheres with many institutions around the world. We are pleased to sign a cooperation memorandum with one of the leading universities in India. I hope that it will provide more fruitful educational and scientific contacts,” – emphasized the rector.

Sumy State University relates to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University by cooperation with Professor Bhola Khan. He has been working at the Department of Economic Cybernetics for 5 years. Therefore, he is an ambassador in India to deepen ties with Sumy State University.

The cooperation opens a wide range of joint educational and research activities. It concerns virtual classroom programs and academic mobility. In such a way, students and teachers gain international experience, deepen their knowledge and develop professional skills.

The Understanding Memorandum creates a framework for partnership in education, research and experience exchange between these two universities. Therefore, students, teachers and researchers from both universities will have an opportunity to work together on projects, share knowledge and research results.

Notes: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University is a public institution in the state of Uttar Pradesh (Bareilly, India). It was founded in 1975 as Rohilkhand University and was renamed in August 1997 in honor of the social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The University has 6 faculties: Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Faculty of Advanced Social Sciences; Faculty of Management; Faculty of Education and Related Sciences; Faculty of Law; Faculty of Applied Sciences.
