On 23 April 2024, a trilateral online meeting was held between Sumy State University, Jiamusi University (the Heilongjiang Province) and the representative office of Sumy State University in China.

Zhong WEIDONG (the Jiamusa University rector), Jiang ZHIMEI (the vice-rector), Wang DEZHONG (the director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department), Vasyl KARPUSHA (the SumDU rector), Maksym POHORELOV (the deputy director of the Educational and Research Medical Institute, director of the Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment “Center for Biomedical Research”) and Yurii VOLK (the dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology) shared their views on cooperation prospects.

The online meeting was also attended by Ivan KOZII (the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work of Sumy State University), Andrii LOBODA (the director of the Medical Institute), and heads of certain structural subdivisions.

In his welcoming remarks, Vasyl KARPUSHA expressed his gratitude to his Chinese colleagues for their hospitality during the visit of the Sumy State University delegation to the Heilongjiang Province and invited them to return to Ukraine.

“I am still under a pleasant impression from my trip to China, because it was a very warm meeting where we discussed many plans. In addition, the topic of today’s conference is the result of our visit last year. I am confident that our online meeting will strengthen cooperation in medicine, biotechnology, nanomaterials and electronics,” – said the rector.

In his turn, Zhong WEIDONG emphasized the importance of cooperation with Sumy State University as one of the leading higher education institutions. It holds high positions in international rankings and is well known in China.

The participants presented their scientific achievements and developments in areas that will form a basis for further scientific and educational cooperation between universities.

The prospects for cooperation include: mutual exchange of educational and scientific achievements, participation in academic mobility programs between teachers and students, and implementation of joint projects in the scientific field.

Both parties expressed their wishes for fruitful cooperation and confidence in its effectiveness.
