According to the updated Webometrics version, SumDU is ranked second among higher education institutions in Ukraine.

Compared to the previous version as of January 2024, SumDU has retained its overall position and significantly improved results in the Excellence index. It is determined by the number of publications among the TOP 10% most cited works according to SCImago.

Also, the Transparent Ranking was published. It determines the best universities worldwide by the number of citations in Google Scholar. SumDU has risen to the third place among Ukrainian institutions. Behind are only Taras Shevchenko National University and Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The Webometrics ranking examines performance of over 32 thousand universities from more than 200 countries.

In the latest ranking version, almost 300 Ukrainian institutions were ranked (link).
