Sumy State University was featured in a news message by the Al-Arabiya TV Channel.

Hasmalla Huzeyfa Adil Elzhak, a correspondent for the TV channel and former SumDU student, has been actively covering events in Ukraine since the beginning of Russian full-scale invasion. During his stay in Sumy Oblast and preparation of messages, the journalist visited SumDU. He wanted to show the world what will, resilience and determination Ukrainian teachers and students demonstrate despite current challenges and threats.

Huzeyfa, like everyone else who calls SumDU their alma mater, remembers well how noisy, crowded, and lively the atmosphere on university campuses used to be before the Russian aggression. And the message mentions this. But now, students’ safety comes first. This was emphasized by the SumDU rector Vasyl KARPUSHA in his commentary. Therefore, educational process is conducted in a mixed format. All classes can be held in shelters, with preference of practice-oriented disciplines. The university management has taken care to provide classrooms in shelters with constant power and stable Internet.

Despite all challenges, SumDU keeps remaining a high standard of education. This is done thanks to coordinated work of the entire university family. Thus, SumDU is being a reliable scientific and educational outpost in the north-eastern part of Ukraine.
