SumDU ranks first among Ukrainian universities. It is the only one among domestic institutions to be included in the TOP 1000 best universities worldwide in the updated Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025.

This year, a record number of Ukrainian universities was ranked – 17 out of 55 submitted data for participation.

According to the ranking methodology, activities of each institution are evaluated by 18 performance indicators grouped into five generalized indexes. Compared to the last year’s ranking, SumDU has improved its position in terms of research quality, cooperation with industrial and commercial enterprises, and research environment.
