SumDU rector Vasyl KARPUSHA took part in a roundtable organized by the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in Sumy Oblast. The participants discussed the issue of ensuring rights of children within the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.

During the roundtable, the rector received a letter of appreciation from Dmytro LUBENETS. He is the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. The letter was presented by Tetiana MYRONENKO (Ombudsman’s representative in Sumy Oblast).

“For active cooperation, outstanding charitable, humanitarian and social activities, and a significant contribution to protecting human and civil rights,” – it is written in the letter.

In his turn, Vasyl KARPUSHA expressed his gratitude for recognizing public mission of the SumDU staff. Noted the university cares about creating safe conditions for students’ academic and extracurricular activities. Emphasized the importance of further coordination of joint efforts to protect rights of young people, to assist Ukrainian defenders and their families in providing educational, psychological and medical assistance.
