For the third time, the British rating agency “Quacquarelli Symonds” has identified the world’s best universities focused on overcoming global challenges related to sustainable development.

This year, the final table of the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025 includes almost 1750 institutions from 107 countries and territories. SumDU took the second national place and entered the top 800 universities worldwide.

The main focus of the ranking is the external university impact, including indicators of environmental sustainability, education and research. The latter concerns environment, equality, employment, health and well-being, knowledge exchange, etc.

In total, the ranking includes 17 Ukrainian universities from Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Lviv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernivtsi. It is more than twice as many as last year.
