On 10 December 2024, in the safe space of Sumy State University, the library organized a lecture on Ukrainian statehood to draw attention to the historical origins of state building.

Yevhen MURZA (a well-known local historian, guide, author of the Sumy Guard project, and co-author of the YouTube podcast Comedian + Historian) was invited to lecturing. In his report, he covered a wide chronological range, from antiquity to the present.

The lecture was attended by university staff, professors, students, and everyone else. Yevhen emphasized it is important for everyone, regardless of age and gender, to know and understand state formation to resist the enemy.

The lecture covered the historical aspects that shaped Ukrainian statehood. Particular emphasis was focused on the concepts “state” and “country”.

The lecture aroused keen interest among students, teachers and visitors of the university. The participants had an opportunity to ask questions to the lecturer.
