The TSUKR Awards ceremony was held in Sumy. It was organized for the fourth time by the TSUKR Club, a community of a popular local online magazine. The TSUKR Awards recognizes people who shape the future of Sumy with their work and ideas.

This year, the organizers nominated about 100 people who are actively involved in the city life and development. Among them, there are soldiers, volunteers, human right defenders, members of charitable organizations, activists, entrepreneurs, artists, educators, urbanists, architects, etc.

We are glad that Vasyl KARPUSHA (SumDU rector) received the TSUKR award in the education category. It recognizes the university contribution to local development, implementation of educational and social projects, and volunteer work.

The ceremony participants received symbolic gifts: key chains with the inscription “I have superpower” and postcards. According to the organizers, this was done to draw attention to work of these people.

Musicians Yelyzaveta LEVCHENKO and Daria POKUTNIA accompanied the event with New Year melodies. Famous people congratulated the nominees in video messages. Among them, there are Mykhailo TKACH (journalist at Ukrainska Pravda), Vladyslav HREZIEV (founder of Lobby X and TEDxKyiv), Gaigizys GELDIEV (senior partner at Jnomics Media), Albert TSUKRENKO (journalist and musician of the Hamerman Destroys Viruses band), Olha KYRYLENKO (journalist of Ukrayinska Pravda), Mykola CHERNOTYTSKYI (chairman of the Board of Public Broadcasting), Mateusz KAMIONKA (Polish scientist and Doctor in Social Sciences), Roman BAKHRAIEV (Bahroma band founder), and Vasyl BAIDAK (stand-up comedian).
