On 26 December 2024, SumDU was visited by Volodymyr SEMYNOZHENKO. He is academician and head of the North-Eastern Scientific Center of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences.
The main meeting topic was discussion of this year’s results of Ukrainian science development. According to Volodymyr SEMYNOZHENKO, it demonstrates significant results, even in wartime conditions. He gave specific examples of unique developments by Ukrainian scientists, in particular for nuclear energy and medicine.
Volodymyr SEMYNOZHENKO noted powerful contribution to development of Ukrainian science and importance of research conducted by SumDU researchers.
Systematic and successful development of SumDU science is eloquently evidenced by indicators of funding for scientific activities, which the university increases every year, demonstrating increase in quality and efficiency. As reported by Anatolii CHORNOUS (vice-rector for scientific work) last year over 127 million UAH, this year over 150 million UAH were allocated for science development.
“Whoever does not stop and moves forward, will definitely achieve success, despite any obstacles. The SumDU staff promote university science and raise achievements of Ukrainian research and innovations,” – emphasized Anatolii VASYLIEV (chairman of the SumDU Academic Council).
SumDU results were awarded with distinctions of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences and its North-Eastern Center.
Volodymyr SEMYNOZHENKO presented the honorary diploma to Inna SHKOLNYK (first vice-rector).
Personal awards were received by: Anatolii VASYLIEV (chairman of the SumDU Academic Council), Anatolii CHORNOUS (vice-rector for scientific work), Ivan PROTSENKO (leading researcher, professor at the Department of Electronics, General and Applied Physics), Anatolii OPANASIUK (head of the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering).
Science and innovation are basis of current stability and future prosperity in Ukraine. SumDU makes a powerful contribution to this goal.
