Biathlete Bohdan BORKOVSKYI, a SumDU student, won the first gold medal for the Ukrainian national team at the 2025 World University Games in Turin (Italy). He overcame the 15 km short individual race.

In the fight for gold, our athlete was 25.5 seconds ahead of the Finn Patrik KUUTTINEN and 29.2 seconds ahead of the Czech Petr KHAK.

SumDU students Serhii SUPRUN and Vladyslav CHYKHAR are also on the fourth and fifth positions in the standings.
