On 22 January 2025, Times Higher Education, one of the most authoritative ranking agencies in higher education, published ranking results of the best universities.

SumDU was included in five sections: Social Sciences (401-500), Business and Economics (501-600), Engineering and Physical Sciences (601-800). For the first time in its history, the university was included in the Medicine and Healthcare branch. It was placed in the 601th-800th position among the best universities.

In each of these rankings, SumDU ranks first among Ukrainian higher education institutions.
