On 21 February 2025, when the International Mother Language Day took place, SumDU hosted an interactive quiz “Lingual SumDU”. It was attended by pupils from Sumy secondary schools (No. 1, 2, 7, 15, 21) and lyceum (No. 33).

The participants were able to test their knowledge of the Ukrainian language and culture in an interesting and dynamic format.

The SumDU Department of Extracurricular Activities prepared a variety of questions and tasks for the participants related to language norms, history of the Ukrainian language, literature and cultural heritage. The pupils not only experienced positive emotions but also learned more about their native language.

All participants received memorable souvenirs from SumDU.

The International Mother Language Day is celebrated annually on 21 February. It reminds us of the importance of preserving our mother language as an integral part of national identity.
