On 2 March 2025, four teams from Sumy played for the SumDU Rector’s Volleyball Cup. The following teams took part in the competition: SumDU, VC “Avanhard”, CYSS “Avanhard” and CYSS 2.

All four teams demonstrated a high level of skill and thirst for victory. However, the best were volleyball players of SumDU. Our team won the honorary cup.

The best players were Hlib PANTIUSHENKO (SumDU), Denys USENKO (Avanhard), Volodymyr KUSHCH (Avanhard) and Serhii FURSA (CYSS 2).

At the award ceremony, the participants were greeted and honored by Oleksandr BRIZHATYI (SumDU vice-rector), Tetiana MAIBORODA (deputy head of the International Cooperation Department), and Mykola HUMENNYI (member of the SumDU Sports Club). The latter is currently serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
