The Russian aggressor is deliberately trying to destroy our identity at the centers of Ukrainian education, science and culture. On 13 April 2025, two targeted missile strikes damaged SumDU buildings: the Congress Center and Academic Building 2.
However, the university did not stop its daily work for a single day. We taught, studied, did research, and eliminated destruction consequences to restore the infrastructure.
We are sincerely grateful to representatives of the educational community, colleagues and partners for their moral and material support.
As of 01 May 2025, SumDU charity accounts received UAH 2,230,780 from our partners and friends to restore the damaged buildings.
Some of the funds from charitable donations have already been used for restoration work. The expenses amounted to UAH 692,430.
UAH 100,080 was spent on replacing windows, UAH 61,345 on construction equipment to repair the damage (batteries, drills, grinders), UAH 247,180 on door fittings (repair of the remaining doors and windows that needed to be repaired), and UAH 283,825 on doors, glass, film, nails and screws.
The work to restore the damaged SumDU infrastructure goes on. We are grateful to everyone who is helping us to survive. Your concern and assistance will speed up the university recovery. And we will certainly continue to report publicly on our expenses.
Together we are stronger. Together we will restore our unbreakable SumDU, which is and always will be a reliable educational and scientific outpost in the northeast of Ukraine!
