On 20 August 2025, Anatolii Vasylovych VASYLIEV celebrates his anniversary. He is SumDU Academic Council Head, Honored Worker of Ukrainian Education, laureate of the Ukrainian State Prize in Education, scholarship holder of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, professor, PhD in Technical Sciences, Honored Sumy Citizen.

Anatolii Vasylovych’s professional path is a vivid example of deep devotion to science, education and his native university. More than half a century of his life is connected with SumDU. In 1972 he graduated with honors from the Sumy Branch of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree "Machinery and Apparatus for Chemical Production”. Since then, he has gone from a junior research associate to the university head. For about 26 years he held the first vice-rector position. For 17 years, he headed the higher education institution. Today, he continues to make a significant contribution to university development as Academic Council Head and Rector Advisor.

The university community expresses sincere gratitude to Anatolii Vasylovych for many years of selfless work, high professional skills, principledness, foresight and constant concern for SumDU prosperity.
