The Sumy Machine-Building Cluster of Power Equipment and the Ukrainian Nuclear Society signed a memorandum of cooperation. The agreement is aimed at combining scientific potential of universities, industrial enterprises and nuclear community to strengthen the country’s energy security.
The document provides for:
- Development of educational and research projects in nuclear energy;
- Training and advanced training of industry specialists;
- Involvement of engineering and production resources of Sumy Oblast in construction of new power units;
- Organization of scientific forums, conferences and round tables;
- Popularization of knowledge about safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.
Vladyslav KONDUS (executive director of the cluster, head of the SumDU Research Department) noted: “We have taken another important step forward. This partnership opens up new horizons: from science and education to construction of new power units. I believe that synergy of industry and nuclear community will become foundation of the energy-independent Ukraine”.
The new partnership creates conditions for development of innovations, import substitution and strengthening of critical infrastructure.
SumDU, together with partners, is expanding its capabilities in scientific research and practical training of personnel who will shape the future of Ukraine.
