On 7-9 November 2025, the world championship in sports and combat sambo among men and women was held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).

The Ukrainian national team traditionally demonstrated a high level of training. Real pride of the Ukrainian team was Anhelina VELYCHKO, a SumDU student of the specialty “Therapy and Rehabilitation”.

In the weight category up to 80 kilograms, Anhelina showed brilliant technique, strength of spirit and endurance. As a result, the SumDU student won a gold medal and title of the world champion in combat sambo among adults.

This achievement is a result of hard work of the athlete, her coaches and university community.
