Professor Yurii GOGOTSI (SumDU Honorary Doctor), has been included in the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers 2025 list, which recognizes scientists whose work has made a significant impact on science development.
Being included in this ranking indicates that the citation level of researcher’s works is among the 1% most influential in their field. Professor GOGOTSI was recognized in three categories at once: chemistry, engineering and material science.
A Ukrainian by origin, Professor GOGOTSI is a Distinguished University Professor, Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Endowed Chair and Director of the A. J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute at Drexel University (USA). His pioneering research on MXenes and other nanomaterials has significantly influenced development of scientific research: from energy storage to biomedical applications.
SumDU has a long-standing collaboration with Professor GOGOTSI. He has been a SumDU Honorary Doctor since 2021. In 2022, he joined the university as an Adjunct Professor and has delivered a series of open lectures on 2D nanomaterials (MXenes) for our students and researchers. Professor GOGOTSI also collaborates with colleagues from the SumDU Biomedical Research Center (Professors Maksym POHORELOV and Oleksandr POHREBNIAK). He is a partner in the MX-MAP initiative (“Towards MXenes’ Biomedical Applications by High-Dimensional Immune MAPping”). It is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie project aimed at the safe introduction of 2D nanomaterials into biomedicine.
SumDU sincerely congratulates Yurii GOGOTSI on another high international recognition. We are proud of many cooperation years with the outstanding scientist! We wish him new discoveries, fruitful collaborations, and further scientific breakthroughs that improve people’s lives!
