Sumy State University has once again confirmed its high scientific potential by winning a contest for fundamental and applied research projects and scientific and technical (experimental) developments of young scientists. It had been organized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science.

Nine projects received state support, which secured SumDU the top position among institutions in Ukraine, together with the Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic National Technical University. The university’s effectiveness in the contest was 82%.

These indicators confirm high potential of SumDU young scientists, a systematic and effective model of university science that actively responds to challenges of time and offers modern solutions and technologies for state development.

Winning projects by SumDU young scientists were:

  • “Smart electrically conductive tissue engineering platform for regenerative medicine” (scientific supervisor – Kateryna SMIRNOVA);
  • “European integration transformation of Ukraine’s financial monitoring system in wartime: Strengthening countermeasures against terrorist financing” (supervisor – Anton BOIKO);
  • “Innovative methods for forecasting and improving energy efficiency of free-vortex pumps for energy system sustainability” (supervisor – Vladyslav KONDUS);
  • “Evolution of the Ukrainian identity in linguistic consciousness: Past experience, current challenges, and prospects for development” (supervisor – Vitalii STEPANOV);
  • “Study of genetic predictors of post-traumatic stress disorder and their prognostic significance” (supervisor – Nataliia DRYHA);
  • “Institutional digitization in restoring Ukraine’s ecological and economic sustainability” (supervisor – Serhii MYNENKO);
  • “Automated workplace of a pathologist based on artificial intelligence solutions” (supervisor – Anastasiia DENYSENKO);
  • “Digital transformation of Ukraine within green economic development: Convergence with the EU and challenges of inclusive digitalization” (supervisor – Tetiana PIMONENKO);
  • “Digital economy and renewable energy: Forming sustainable business models for Ukraine’s post-war recovery” (supervisor – Olena KOLOTILINA).
