On 28 January 2026, the British rating agency Quacquarelli Symonds published the third edition of the annual QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026. It includes higher education institutions from over 40 member countries of the Council of Europe. Ukraine is represented by 58 universities in this ranking, which is a record number for QS rankings.
Sumy State University received high ratings for research citations, progress in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, and internationalization of educational and scientific activities (including development of international research networks).
Among all universities included in the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026, Sumy State University ranked 485th. It is 60th among Eastern European universities, and 7th among Ukrainian institutions. We moved up one position compared to last year’s ranking.
