In the latest issue of the Osvita i Suspilstvo newspaper, founded by the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, an extensive material was published in the special section “National Heritage”. It was dedicated to meeting results of the SumDU Supervisory Board.
The article “An Example of Sustainability, Effective Management and Systemic Development” talks about how SumDU, working in the conditions of a front-line region, managed not only to preserve its potential, but also to strengthen positions in the national and international space.
In particular, the university demonstrates high rating results and leads among Ukrainian institutions. SumDU successfully passed state certification of scientific activity and entered the qualification group “A” in five areas – social; engineering and technological; natural and mathematical; humanitarian and artistic; biomedical. According to this indicator, the university took the first place in Ukraine. The article notes growth of science funding: in 2025, its volume amounted to UAH 185.5 million, which is over twice the figure for 2021. Other successful cases of university development are also cited.
Members of the Supervisory Board called the SumDU experience “a concentrated example of the Ukrainian education resilience”. It emphasizes an effective combination of traditions and digital transformation even in constant challenges.
“Despite infrastructure attacks, the university has maintained academic quality, managerial efficiency, and human potential. The leadership and staff work is manifestation of high professionalism, responsibility, and true patriotism in action,” – says the article.
Vasyl KREMEN (Chairman of the SumDU Supervisory Board, President of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences) noted that today the front-line university plays a much broader role than an educational institution.
“This is a center of intellectual resilience and community life. SumDU is a modern, innovative and invincible university that forms a new quality of higher education,” – he noted.
