On May 8, Ukraine commemorates Remembrance and Victory Day over Nazism in World War II. This is a date that serves as a reminder of one of the most tragic chapters in world history while reaffirming the value of peace, human life, and freedom.
On this day, we bow our heads before every family that has known the pain of loss, before every life scarred by the fires of war.
Today, our pain is particularly acute. We are once again facing trials, once again defending our home and our right simply to be Ukrainians. The memory of the heroes of the past gives us strength now. It reminds us that even the darkest night ends with dawn, and that freedom is always stronger than the invader.
The SumDU community gratefully remembers those who gave us peace back, and with boundless warmth and prayer supports those who are defending our skies and land today.
Remembrance and Victory Day is about gratitude and respect, unbreakable bond between generations. It is about our shared belief that justice will surely prevail, and that life in Ukraine will flourish once again under a peaceful sky.
We remember! We will win!
