Sumy State University continues to feel the reliable support of its international partners. The latest proof of this strong cooperation is the humanitarian aid received from the University of Liverpool, SumDU's twin university-partner under the UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative.
SumDU received furniture for its teaching and office spaces – desks, chairs, and cabinets, as well as a selection of books that will enrich the university library's collection. These materials will help improve conditions for study and work and support the development of a modern educational environment.
In addition, thanks to the support of British and Ukrainian volunteers, the university received medicines, walkers, and other medical devices for its clinical facilities and the Academic and Research Medical Institute, along with hygiene products, household goods, clothing, blankets, bedding, and food and treats.
In total, more than 800 items of humanitarian aid, weighing over 8 tonnes, were delivered to SumDU.
We sincerely thank our partners at the University of Liverpool for their unwavering support, trust, and readiness to help a Ukrainian university during such a difficult time for the country.
We extend special gratitude to Sacha Bunatyan and all the volunteers who helped assemble the humanitarian shipment.
The Twinning Initiative, under which the partnership between the University of Liverpool and SumDU was established and continues to develop, is supported by Cormack Consultancy Group and the President of Ukraine Fund.
Such examples of international cooperation and human solidarity once again confirm that true partnership reaches far beyond academic collaboration. It is support for people, for the university community, and for Ukraine as a whole.
