SumDU continues its active participation in the large-scale European Erasmus+ project “Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative” (DigiUni). On 17-18 August 2026, SumDU representatives, together with partner universities, focused on coordinating the project’s next steps, issues related to dissemination of its results, and development of the DigiPlatform digital ecosystem. Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted the consortium’s meeting.
Strategic planning for dissemination of the DigiUni project
On 17 August 2026, a strategic consortium meeting was held to discuss dissemination of the project’s results. Anna NENIA, head of the Department of Information Technologies at SumDU, participated in the meeting online.
The main meeting goal was to discuss and agree on the project’s communication strategy, aimed at maximizing reach among target audiences: from students and faculty to the broader educational community in Ukraine and Europe. Participants focused on planning information campaigns, promoting the DigiPlatform ecosystem, and presenting the project’s initial achievements to the general public.
SumDU plays a significant role in practical implementation of DigiUni objectives. During the meeting, importance of effective communication and presentation of results at the level of each partner university was emphasized. SumDU has already achieved significant results – ranging from successful conduct of large-scale internal training sessions for academic and teaching staff to direct production of innovative digital courses, scheduled for release in January 2027.
Participation of university representatives in such strategic events allows for effective alignment of local institutional initiatives with DigiUni’s nationwide communication strategy. Transparent and active dissemination ensures that digital educational materials and best practices developed by SumDU will be made available to maximum number of stakeholders, thereby contributing to comprehensive digital transformation of higher education in Ukraine.
Interim coordination meeting of the consortium
On 18 August 2026, an interim coordination meeting of the DigiUni project consortium was held in a hybrid format. SumDU was represented by Ivan KOZII (Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, vice rector for scientific and pedagogical work. The event brought together representatives from partner universities to synchronize efforts and jointly plan next stages of digital transformation of higher education.
Participants discussed integration of the developed educational content into the unified DigiPlatform ecosystem, approaches to disseminating project results, strengthening cooperation among universities, and ensuring resilience of the digital educational infrastructure to support the continuity of learning.
Special attention was given to results of the DigiUni team’s work. The project’s main achievements for 2025 and the first half of 2026 include active expansion of a network of digital innovation centers, implementation of comprehensive professional development programs for faculty and administrators, and development and piloting of the first joint educational modules.
