SumDU has reaffirmed its leading position by topping the national list in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, alongside the I. Ya. Horbachevskyi Ternopil National Medical University. In the global ranking, SumDU is listed in the 1201–1400 range.

This result is a significant achievement for the university community, as the institution continues to operate and develop in the frontline region. Despite challenging circumstances, SumDU has managed to maintain the high quality of its educational programs and research activities while remaining prominent on the international stage.

This year, the scope of the evaluation expanded: the ranking included 2,297 universities from 118 countries. Experts evaluated institutions across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, funding from industry-commissioned research, and international outlook.
