SumDU took part in International Higher Education Summit AFRICA 2019, held on November 19-20, 2019 in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa. During the Summit SumDU in partnership with Ukrainian State Center for International education was represented by the Deputy Director of Oleg Balatskyi Academic and Reseacrh Institute of Finance, Economics and Management for coordination of collaboration with foreign institutions and work with international students Tetyana Mayboroda.

Organizers of the event – International organization UniAgents, which helps institutions and universities, consultants, senior schools and governmental agencies to use the platform to establish partnerships to meet their international students mobility goals, internationalization of education, promotion of countries/universities/programmes and extension of cooperation directions in the sphere of education. The Summit was attended by representatives from Canada, the USA, Poland, Switzerland, France, South Africa, the UAE, Turkey, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Nigeria, Ghana, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and others.

The event was organized in the format of B2B meetings with an opportunity to have detailed discussions on possible ways of cooperation with institutions of African and Asian countries, to explore new potential directions of partnerships, to present opportunities for getting quality higher education on different programmes of Sumy State University for senior schools principals and consultants, and also to strengthen its informational presence on African continent.

The visit to Cape Town was also supported by the Ukrainian Association of South Africa, whose help made it possible to discover the most prominent cultural places, learn more about peculiarities of the country in the field of education, and also visit the Sustainable Institute of the University of Stellenbosch for discussion of possible ways of cooperation with SumDU.
