On 14th of November 2019 the round-table “Nigeria & Ukraine. Internationalization of Education: Perspectives and Exposure Programs” was held in frames of cooperation between SumDU and Bingham University and was devoted to the discussion of further development of cooperation between universities and presentation of programs of academic mobility, faculty exchange, internationalization of educational programs and lecturing.

The meeting was held under support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Nigeria represented by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i Mr. Serhii Yushkevych and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry represented by Mrs. Olena Nedryhailo.

Bingham University was represented by the administration representatives namely by the Chancellor Prof. William Qurix, the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Registrar, Deans of the Faculties of economics, computer science and medicine, as well as the advancement office and academic staff. SumDU was represented by the Vice-director for coordination of cooperation with foreign institutions and work with foreign students of the Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management Mrs.Tetyana Mayboroda as well as the lecturers currently teaching at Bingham University under faculty exchange program: Mrs. Olena Shkarupa and Mr.Ivan Shkarupa  (Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management), Mr. Fedir Zhuravka and Mr. Serhii Mynenko (Academic and Research Institute of Business Technologies "UAB").

By the results of the discussion all parties confirmed the importance of further development and extension of collaboration in the sphere of higher education and agreed on launching the academic mobility programs for students, transfer of students to continue education at SumDU, development of practically-oriented programs for Nigerian students with engagement of Ukrainian professors and experts as well as future realization of joint scientific-research projects.
