Sumy State University has started implementation of cooperation agreement with Bingham University (Nigeria), which provides the exchange of students, undergraduate students and lecturers. In the framework of the signed agreement and as a result of joint efforts of the Deputy Director of Oleg Balatskyi Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management for coordination of cooperation with foreign institutes and for work with foreign students Tetyana Mayboroda and Advancement Office coordinator of Bingham University Dabur Missal, SumDU representatives for the first time came to Bingham University for teaching and internship program at the Department of Economics. 

SumDU is represented by the delegates of Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management - Shkarupa Olena and Shkarupa Ivan, of Academic and Research Institute Institute of Business Technologies “UAB" - Zhuravka Fedir and Mynenko Serhii. During the first week there were meetings with Vice Chancellor of the university prof. W.B. Qurix, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dean of the Economic Department J. Aedogbon and other colleagues. During the meeting the universities’ representatives discussed peculiarities of teaching and assessment of students at Bingham University, directions and spheres of cooperation during the stay of lecturers at the University of Nigeria. 

From it’s side, SumDU is preparing to host two Bingham University faculty members as part of a cooperation agreement for teaching at Academic and Research Institute of Business Technologies "UAB" and at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology. 

It is the first experience of such cooperation between higher education institutions of Ukraine and Nigeria. SumDU is planning to further develop cooperation projects with African countries and expand its presence at African education market.
