SumDU develops dual degree programmes with the partner in Germany

On September 25^th Sumy State University welcomed the delegation of Koblenz-Landau University, Germany consisted of the following participants: Iryna Shalaginova – the Head of the International Department, office of the University President; Ines Tobis – the Head of the International Students Center of the Koblenz campus and Jutta Bohn – the Head of the International Department of the Landau campus. The visit took place within the implementation of the joint grant project of the EU Erasmus+ programme in the direction of academic mobility.

During the meetings with general university subdivisions that organize academic mobility – the International Affairs Office and Department for Internationalization of Educational Activity of SumDU, where the discussion of the current projects results and planning of the further cooperation was held. Also, the partner university colleagues met the administration of the faculties of Electronics and Information Technology, Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies and Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management in order to discuss the introduction and implementation of the programmes of academic exchange between the universities, dual degree programme in particular. Apart from that, Koblenz-Landau University representatives met with SumDU students and presented their university, told about opportunities to study in Germany under the financing of the scholarship programmes and listened to the stories of those students who successfully passed the studying at the Koblenz-Landau University within the EU Erasmus+ programme.

As the result of the visit the agreements of the further implementation of dual degree programme were reached in such directions as “Applied Mathematics and Complex Systems Modelling”, “Web Sciences”, “Ecology”, and implementation of the new programmes on “information Management” and “Electronic Governance”.

As the Head of the International Affairs Office Kostyantyn Kyrychenko noted, the partnership with Koblenz-Landau University has more than 10 years history. Today the main cooperation direction is the strengthening of the academic mobility of the students, teachers and scientists of SumDU. Due to this cooperation SumDU improves its own educational programmes in accordance with the European standards and provides the students with the opportunity to upgrade professional skills in Germany while studying at SumDU.
