On July 16, the academic, research and manufacturing centre “Technologies for Modern Engineering Materials” was opened in Sumy State University within the partnership with the European manufacturing companies. The centre was opened by the Rector of Sumy State University Anatoliy Vasylyev together with the representatives of Czech companies: Mikhail Voleinyk, the General Manager and Liudmyla Fatkova, the Head of HR department of F.X MEILLER Slaný company; Oleksii Dashutin, the Technical Director and Kyrylo Kasaiev, the Executive Director of AIR Supply company.

The Centre is aimed to promote the professional development of the students from the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies of SumDU. Also, the special courses for improving professional skills for the specialists with the occupation “Electric welder of manual welding” using the TIG, MIG, MAG, MMA welding technologies, will be offered in the centre. These courses will be open to the graduates of vocational training schools of the corresponding specialty, as well as to the experienced welders.

The students and graduates of these courses will have the opportunity to undergo the traineeship and work at the partner companies F.X MEILLER and AIR Supply. The cooperation agreement between SumDU and these companies was signed. According to the administration of the companies, Mikhail Voleinyk and Kyrylo Kasaiev, the academic, research and manufacturing centre has the advanced equipment, as well as the opportunities for high quality training.

According to SumDU Rector Anatoliy Vasylyev “About 30 centres operates at the university with the attraction of foreign partners to improve the quality of educational services for the students, and this centre is not an exception.” We see the significant prospects for the development of this centre, in particular, in terms of active use for our scientific and technological activities.”
