In difficult quarantine conditions, in compliance with all anti-epidemic measures, athlete students of SumDU continue the training process and prepared well for the competitions and winnings in prestigious sports arenas. Our judo students performed successfully at the Championship of Ukraine on October 14th-15th in Zaporizhia.

SumDU judokas won 7 awards of various kinds at the competitions. Anastasiia Antipina (weight category 63 kg) and Nataliia Chystiakova (70 kg), as well as a postgraduate of Oleg Balatskyi Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management Anastasiia Turchyn (78 kg), became the champions of Ukraine. Among men, Kyrylo Samotuh (60 kg) got the gold award, and Hevorh Manukian (81 kg) got a silver award. Bronze medals went to Mykyta Holoborodko weighing 60 kg and Vadym Nazarenko - 81 kg. All our winners are students majoring in "Physical Education and Sports" of the Medical Institute.

The day before the championship, an election conference of the Judo Federation of Ukraine took place in Zaporizhia, where Serhii Kolesnichenko, SumDU Sports Club employee, was elected as a Vice-President of the National Federation. According to the allocation of authority, Serhii Kolesnichenko should take care of the judo development among students of Ukraine HEIs. We wish him success and effectiveness for the benefit of student sports!
